A Summer Story

Supplies Needed

Font of choice – I used Midnight Valentine here

JWY mask here

Plug Ins used:
Brush Strokes - Crosshatch

“A Summer Story” is a PTU scrap kit created by Tootypup Scraps and can be purchased from any of her stores here.  Thank you, Susan, for an absolutely stunning kit!!   
This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP. 

~~ Let’s get started ~~

Open up a 700 x 700 blank canvas.
Flood fill white.

Copy and paste Daisy Frame 01 as a new layer.
Resize 40%
Make your Selection Tool active, set on either Freehand Selection or Point to Point (whichever is easier for you to se) and section off the right side of the frame.  See my example:

Duplicate the frame layer.
Match both frame ends together to create one rectangular frame.

Merge Visible both frame layers.
Center this frame on your canvas.
Click inside of it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 2.
Copy and paste Paper 03a as a new layer below the frame layer.
Resize the paper 60% and move into a position you like.
Right click on the paper in your layers pallet.
Choose “Promote Section to Layer” from the submenu.
Delete the original paper layer.
Do not Deselect.

Copy and paste the following elements below the frame layer – see my tag for reference as to where to place them (don’t worry about what overhangs, we’ll clean that up in a bit):
A Summer Story 01:  Resize 70%
Sunburst 01:  Resize 40%

Highlight each element that’s below the frame and tap the delete key.

Close out your white background.
Merge visible.
Reopen your white background.

Copy and paste Frame 03 as a new layer.
Resize 30%
Move this behind the merged layer.
Tap the letter K on your keyboard to activate your Pick Tool and move each of the frames into position (see my tag for reference) turn each of the frames so the cluster of elements are hidden.
Be sure each of these frames are in exact position -
To each frame:
Click inside the frame with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 2.
New Raster layer below the frame.
Copy and paste Paper 6 Into Section.
New Raster layer above Paper 6.
Copy and paste Paper 2 Into Section.
Change the Opacity of this paper to Multiply.

Copy and paste Paper 10 as a new layer behind the merged layer.
Resize 30%
Apply Brush Strokes – Crosshatch
Match your settings to mine:

 Make your Selection Tool active, set on Square.
Section out the entire paper except for the black edges.
Tap the delete key.
Apply a slight Inner Bevel:

Move this paper into exact position – see my tag for reference.

Add your elements.  I used:
Summer Tag 01: Duplicate/Flip/Duplicate
Daisy Spring 01:  Resize 40%
Daisy Rope 01a:  Resize 45%
Butterfly Cluster 01:  Resize 50%
Bow 01:  Resize 40%
Wildgrass 02a:  Resize 60%
Seabird 01a:  Resize 55%/Mirror
Seabird 01a (again):  Resize 25%

Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 8 Into Selection.
Apply the mask.
Free Rotate Left 90 degrees
Tap the letter “K” on your keyboard to activate your Pick Tool and pull down the top and bottom lines until you can no longer see the oval design of the mask – see my tag for reference.
Merge Group.

Tap the Letter M on your keyboard to deactivate your Pick Tool.

Crop your image but leave ample space at the top and bottom of your tag.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Color Pallet:
Foreground: #506d06 
Background: #cee3a8 

Make your Text Tool active.
Set the stroke to 1.0
Type your name.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:

Make your Freehand Selection Tool active and section off the bottom 1/3 of your name.
Number of Pixels: 30
Shift + B – the Brightness/Contrast box should open.
Brightness: -48
Contrast: 11

Color Pallet:
Foreground: #afdfea
Make your Target Tool active
Set the size to 116 and Hardness to 29.
Barely brush the tool along the bottom of your name to give it a hint of blue color.

Close out your white background.
Save your tag as a PNG.
